Indian Food That’s to Dice For
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014
TUK TUK, home to Scotland’s finest Indian street food, is leaving fate to chance by giving diners a complimentary meal if they roll a dice and happen to land a six.
Diners at the Leven Street restaurant are getting the chance to play Makta Mondays, which if luck is on their side and they roll a six, will see them bag their Indian tapas-style food for free.
A spokesperson for Tuk Tuk said: “After being open for a year, we wanted to add an interesting twist for our diners on a Monday night.
“It’s the start of the week and most people are dreading the working week ahead, so we thought why not introduce Makta Mondays to brighten up some lucky diners day.
“So far the response has been fantastic as most people don’t expect to roll a six, but we’ve been amazed at how much the luck has been on their side.”
With the summer weather in full swing, Tuk Tuk has also introduced five new dishes, all reflecting the light airy meals that would be typically enjoyed in India during the sweaty monsoon season.
These new dishes include: beef vindaloo; rassa omelette ; chicken korma; Amritsari Machchi ; Kaale Daal, adding to the already extensive options of meat and vegetable dishes.
The spokesperson added: “The atmosphere here at Tuk Tuk is normally very lively which only gets better when we bring the dice out.
“Following their meal, we bring across the dice and simply let them roll. Get a six and it’s a complimentary meal.
“Hopefully more customers will head on in and try their luck for a free meal.”
TUK TUK is perfect for families or friends wanting to celebrate a special occasion or just looking for a twist to traditional Indian cuisine.
Tuk Tuk’s bring your own bottle policy (no corkage fee) also keeps the prices low and its location opposite the King’s theatre makes it perfect for pre-theatre dining.
