Warning tale of woman hounded by mail fraudsters until her death

PR photography helps tell the story of victim who inspired the Think Jessica campaign

WHEN GRIEVING daughter Marilyn Baldwin worked with SBRC to launch a safety campaign in memory of her mother, our PR photography helped give the story drama and impact.

Jessica Looke was hounded relentlessly by callous mail fraudsters until she died. Her daughter believes the stress contributed to her death. That inspired the Think Jessica campaign.

As well as offering help and guidance, the campaign aims to raise awareness of mail scams which target the elderly and the most vulnerable in society.

Jessica’s family say the old woman was “brainwashed” by the scammers. After her name was added to a “suckers” list she was inundated with thousands of items of mail and was conned out of £50,000.

The launch of the Think Jessica campaign was backed by the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC), which exists to tackle fraud, illicit trade and cyber crime. Our award-winning PR agency works with SBRC to provide high impact public relations services.
