Innovative music trial for dairy cow herd caught in PR photograpy

Mackie’s of Scotland

Contented cows kept by Mackie’s of Scotland treated to weeks of being serenaded

A FAMILY dairy  famed for its luxury ice cream  is hoping its herd of cows will respond favourably to the sound of banjos, harmonies and the music of the American south.

Mackie’s of Scotland is playing country music to its 350 strong milking herd, for a fortnight, to celebrate its partnership with Stonehaven’s inaugural ‘Doricana’ festival – an event that is set to host Scotland’s finest country music acts.

As a lead sponsor of the event, Mackie’s teamed up with festival founder Colin Clyne, an accomplished country music singer, songwriter and musician. He agreed to pose for a series of colourful PR photographs with the contented dairy herd to help illustrate the research story.

This eyecatching suite of PR photograph was conceived and delivered by the food and drink public relations experts at Holyrood PR in Scotland, working with photography experts from Newsline Media in Aberdeen.

As well as hitting the headlines when it was launched, the trial also yielded some surprising results which also captured plentiful headlines.
