“Thursday afternoons are my only chance to go out walking because I can’t go by myself. I have a hip problem and don’t feel steady on my feet. I go out with Milan Senior Welfare Organisation and it’s my favourite time of the week. When I came out of hospital after my hip operation it felt very isolating. Walking as part of the group helps with my balance as well as my confidence and self-esteem because I get to spend time with others of the same age from the local Asian community. It feels homely. I love walking past the duck pond in Lochend Park. Watching the ducks for a few minutes makes me happy and peaceful. Spending time with others is very important; you should always make time for your family and friends no matter how busy you are.”
