By using special Norwegian-designed safety socks for their vehicles, Eagle Couriers are ensuring their drivers stay safe on Scotland’s roads during the winter freeze. The company carries out many deliveries in the north of Scotland and already uses safety equipment such as tyre chains on their delivery vans. However, by introducing the tyre socks as an extra precaution for couriers, they are making sure their winter deliveries arrive on time. Eagle, which is Scotland’s leading independent courier firm, currently works with major organisations such the NHS and delivers medical supplies, equipment and important documents hospitals across the whole of Scotland. They have has trialling the equipment on vehicles delivering medical equipment and important data through Aberdeenshire, the Highlands and the Scottish Borders. If successful, they plan to introduce the tyre socks on all of their 100-strong fleet.
