“I’m never stuck in my head on my walks – I just take in the scenery. Even if you do the same walk, every day, you can always notice something different in nature. I like being alone, but there’s also a group of two or three of us who tend to go out walking together and you always meet others that stop and talk to you. It’s very relaxing but it’s also just plain good fun. I’ve been out before when the snow has been up to my thighs. I’m a retired architect and since stopping work, I try to make the most of each day – start it early. You never know what’s around the corner. Especially as you get older.”
