A ring designed in the shape of an ancient Egyptian protection symbol caused a shock when it mysteriously lit up under the lights in a nightclub. Mum of three Helen Dewar was amazed when her diamond ring, which was shaped like the Eye of Horus, let out a radiant blue glow when it was exposed to the UV lighting in Dunfermline. Scottish gold and gem expert Alistir Tait, who made the ring, explained that a small number of diamonds react to UV light but admitted that one in the Horus ring was the brightest he had ever seen.
