Housing Provider Receives Equality and Diversity Accreditation

Bield Housing And Care Press releases

Lady in KitchenOne of Scotland’s largest housing providers has received official accreditation to celebrate its equality and diversity practices.

Bield, which provides housing and services for more than 15,000 people across the country, has received the prestigious Investors in Diversity UK Award (iiduk).

The housing and care specialists were awarded the accreditation after demonstrating its high quality and effective approach to managing equality and inclusion.

Administered by the National Centre for Diversity, the iiduk framework steers organisations to achieve an all-inclusive culture in which every employee feels valued and respected – and to ensure every customer receives fair and equal treatment.

Brian Logan, CEO of Bield, is delighted with the accreditation and is determined to keep improving Bield’s renowned and quality services.

He said: “This is an incredible achievement for Bield. It recognises our hardwork, passion and dedication to ensure our organisation goes above and beyond   industry standards. The 360 evaluation allowed us to gain insight into our strengths and weaknesses – which we believe will make our equality and diversity practices even stronger.”

“This accreditation acknowledges us as a leading provider of quality services – and shows we understand how to meet individual needs and provide a supportive and appropriate environment for our staff and tenants.

“However, we are certainly not complacent and will continue to build on our success in order to achieve even better services for our tenants and staff, equality and diversity is part of that approach.

“Our next step will be to consider the recommendations from the review so that equality and inclusion are enshrined as an organisation wide responsibility.”

The National Centre for Diversity approach has been helping organisations since 2005 and follows the simple belief that everyone is unique and diversity is inclusive.

This approach sits comfortably alongside Bield’s existing “free to be” policy which acknowledges and celebrates difference, encouraging its tenants to live life to the fullest.
