Homebuilder Sponsorship is Music to Balerno Community’s Ears

Cala Homes Press releases

Balerno Music Festival-goersJazz-loving residents from Balerno and beyond saw a fitting crescendo for their annual local Music Festival – when a luxury homebuilder gave a generous donation to the cause.

The Jazz Party, sponsored by CALA Homes (East) was held on 9th October and once again provided the finale to ‘Scotland’s Biggest Little Music Festival’.

Balerno Music Festival launched in October 2008 and is now an established and hugely popular annual Autumn event. It runs over the course of three weeks with concerts and events for all the family to enjoy. Each year, with help of kind sponsors like CALA, it aims to be bigger and better than ever.

This year, the support ensured as many of the local community as possible had the chance to enjoy the relaxed evening of jazz from the Roger Cull Quartet, who were joined by the dramatic vocals of Ian Ewing, known for captivating audiences with his darkly energetic renditions of popular classics.

Fiona Gilroy, Chair of Balerno Music Festival Organising Committee, said: “It was fantastic to have Ian Ewing back performing with the Roger Cull Quartet for a third year running.

“Even though he’s performed at the London Palladium and in the West End, he always tells us Balerno is his favourite venue and together, he and the Quartet bring something truly unique to it.

“We are really grateful to CALA Homes for its continued generous contribution. The Jazz Party is always a massive hit with the locals and it’s a great opportunity to bring the community together, so we were delighted to be able to make this fun-filled night possible once again.”

Stala Thomson, Sales Manager with CALA Homes (East), spoke of how the developer shares the important value of building a strong sense of community with the residents of Balerno.

She said: “We are very proud to support this initiative. With our developments, we aim to bring people together and create a real sense of neighbourliness and this is exactly what is at the heart of the Balerno Music Festival.

“We look forward to having the opportunity to sponsor many more local events in the near future.”

CALA is committed to investing in the communities where it develops and with two local developments in the area, including Currie development Kinleith Mill – an idyllic, tree-lined development by the Water of Leith. This development boasts a beautiful collection of spacious and distinctive three, four and five bedroom homes which are new to the CALA profile.

Just a short drive away, The Meadow is a more intimate development, comprising of 17 spacious three, four and five bedroom detached and terraced homes from CALA’s award-winning Signature range. This development is now down to its final two homes, so potential buyers are urged to get in quick before the exclusive collection is entirely sold out.
