Home Report Analysis Brings New Scottish PR Success to Property Experts

Warners Solicitors and Estate Agents Blog

Warners coverage in The Scotsman, highlighted by Holyrood PR PR in Edinburgh

Edinburgh’s leading property solicitor Warners has been celebrating another PR success after being quoted in The Scotsman’s Smart Money pages.

The newspaper featured quotes from Warners’ estate agency partner Scott Brown about how house buyers should avoid companies that charge for copies of Home Reports on the properties they sell.

Under the Home Report legislation, which was introduced at the start of the year, agents are not allowed to charge excessive amounts to provide buyers with copies of the reports. However, the Government has allowed firms to make a “reasonable” charge to produce copies of the reports – which some solicitors are using as a justification to demand sums of up to £60 for hard copies.

Scott Brown said that charging people for Home Reports is a negative step for firms to make, as it could prove the difference between making a sale or not in the current economic climate.

The full story was featured in the Scotsman and was the result of a Scottish PR campaign maintained by Edinburgh public relations agency Holyrood PR.
