The world of news, social media, photography and video is a busy place as you can see from the clips below. If you have time after all that reading, watching and viewing, drop by our facebook and twitter pages and tell us what you think – or alternatively you can suggest your own links to be included in our daily round up.

TIGER BLOOD ISN’T JUST FOR CHARLIE SHEEN (Pamela)

Tigers at London Zoo were given blood ice lollies at the weekend to help them keep cool as temperatures soared.  But the zookeepers didn’t stop there.  In a bid to keep the gorillas from getting jealous, they were also treated to a bespoke iced treat in the form blocks of frozen sunflower seeds, which is thought to keep them cool and active.  Maybe Charlie should look to the zoo for inspiration on his next gimmicky marketing ploy.

NEW PASSION FOR HOLLYWOOD STAR SHEEN (Adrian)

Not content with delivering critically acclaimed performances in some of the biggest films in recent years, Hollywood actor Michael Sheen has gone one step further for his latest role. The Frost-Nixon and Tron Legacy star has completed an epic 72-hour performance in his home town of Port Talbot as part of a special Easter-time Passion play – culminating  in his “crucifixion” on a roundabout. The actor spent three days in the re-imagined version of the Easter story, which took place in locations across the Welsh town, before being strung up on a cross in front of thousands of onlookers. I guess it proves that some actors will go to extreme lengths for their art…

WILLIAM AND KATE THE MOVIE GETS PANNED (Laura)

Everyone has Royal Wedding fever at the moment, so it’s no wonder an American film company has decided to cash in on the wedding of the year with a film about the young couples relationship. Rather than being the show stopper they intended ‘William and Kate: The Movie’ received a panning from viewers on Twitter after the UK premiere aired on Channel 5 last night. One of the comments slated the film as ‘the most excruciating & awful thing that mankind has ever created.’ whilst another described it as ‘toe-curlingly, teeth-furringly, pillow-bitingly ghastly’. Yet it wasn’t all bad as one viewer tweets it may have been awful but it was ‘surprisingly watchable’ From the 1min 30 seconds trailer in the article below, it is obvious that the film reeks of American chick flick a far cry from the real and very British relationship between Kate and Wills, but then what else would you expect from an American film company? Let’s just hope the wedding doesn’t get such a panning!

FOR THE LOVE OF THE JOB (Andrea)

The world of journalism may seem like a glamorous place, but as you will see in this compilation video, journalists risk their lives every day to bring us the news. Whether it’s reporting after a football game, or merely doing a sign off from a feature, try and imagine how many bones were broken (or egos bruised) from this clip.

And although this is only eight seconds long, this has to be one of the best reporter bloopers out there. It’s been viewed more than two million times so others must agree.
