This week we’ve been hitting the headlines and hitting the hard for our clients, with page leads and pothole plights for one of our longest standing clients, news of a St Andrew’s venue helping to keep taxi drivers awake and a pair of brothers helping to fuel the Hampden roar.

Pesky potholes are everywhere, and for a courier company they can be cause significant damage to their fleet of vehicles. This is the case with one of our longest standing clients, Eagle Couriers. The company – Scotland’s largest independent courier firm –  have named and shamed some of the worst roads in Edinburgh and Glasgow likening the worst of the cities’ pockmarked carriageways to patchwork Munros. Over the past 12 months the firm has forked out a whopping £24,000 in repairs to its fleet of 80 vehicles. Their story appeared in The Edinburgh Evening News and The Evening Times – both papers running page leads.

Now a great story about how a pair of brothers are working together to fuel the Hampden roar after landing roles as chef’s at Hampden Stadium. Brothers John and David Buskie both work as part of the catering team at Sodexo Prestige which offers corporate fine dining and hospitality and events catering at the National Stadium. After starting out as an aspiring footballer, but being struck down by injury older brother John is now an award winning chef and heads the team which includes his younger brother at Hampden.

And finally – a recently opened bar in St Andrews has come up with a great way of ensuring had working cabbies stay awake on the job by offering them unlimited free teas and coffees on their night shifts. Forgan’s has given away 30 specially branded flasks to taxi drivers in the area and are encouraging them to come to the bar for their free refills.
