This week at Holyrood PR we’ve been telling the story of a catering giant’s newest offer launching in the capital, revealing the story behind this year’s US Kids Golf and highlighting the importance of attracting tourists to country sports in Scotland.
First up, the hospitality giant behind catering at the Open Championships and the Scottish food Oscars has thrown a party of its own at Edinburgh’s historic Assembly Rooms. Sodexo Prestige launched its new service, Prestige Venues & Events, during a showpiece function where some of the biggest movers and shakers of the events and conference industry were treated to a variety of food experiences including an edible garden, a fine dining afternoon tea, seafood bar and hydration station. News of the launch was picked up in several top MICE titles including M & IT Magazine, my venues and Scotland Food and Drink and business publications including Business Quarterly online and Times Business. We even invited along the business editor of Scotland on Sunday who interviewed Sodexo’s managing director and ran a piece on the front of the business section.
Next up, it’s that time of year again as we welcome back our sportiest client, US Kids Golf for the sixth consecutive year. We’ve been telling the story of how the world’s top young talent will be heading to East Lothian – just a 40 minute drive from this year’s Ryder Cup venue – for this year’s U.S. Kids Golf European Championships. The tournament has become a staple event on the calendars of budding young players, attracting more than 500 players, aged 5 -18 to compete against their counterparts from across the globe. Being in the initial stages of our campaign, our story has already been picked up in golf magazine, today’s golfer, East Lothian News and the Midlothian Advertiser.
And finally, we’ve been telling country sports publications and local press about the driving force behind Scotland’s country sports industry which has been given an added boost to help focus and target tourists wanting to pursue outdoor sports.
xBell Ingram, expert land and estate agents, teamed up with the Scottish Country Sports Tourism Group and Angus Council to host an evening designed to help businesses make the most of tourism generated within the sector.
Throughout the evening keynote speakers highlighted the importance of attracting sports-hungry tourists to Scotland and why collaborations between country sports operators and other tourism businesses can ensure the sector continues to thrive.
News of this event was picked up by Country Sports Scotland, the Forfar Dispatch and the Kirriemuir Herald.
