Holyrood PR TV Episode 105

This week we’ve been busy telling the press all about the dangers of anti-illicit trading, how primary school children in Aberdeen are keeping fit and healthy and a new manly craze for one of our Edinburgh hotels.

First up, we’ve been telling the national press about a call for Scotland to crack down on serious organised crime by encouraging people to stop buying illicit and counterfeit goods.
The international trade in counterfeit goods is estimated to cost the UK economy around £1.3 billion a year so the Scottish Business Resilience Centre has decided to hold its first Anti Illicit Trade Summit.
The first of its kind event is set to bring together law enforcement, trading standards, government and people in the industry to highlight the dangers to personal safety as well as the threat to Scotland’s businesses from the spread of illicit trade.
News of this event was picked up in the business pages of national title, Scotland on Sunday.
Next up, in-house caterers at Aberdeen Football Club Sodexo Prestige, have been helping local primary school children stay fit and healthy through a new free after-school club.
The pupils receive an hour of free expert football coaching at the local indoor football pitches before learning the skills that will encourage them to enjoy healthy meals around their own dining tables at home with family.
Sodexo Prestige also provides the children with the same freshly prepared, nutritional meals that their football idols will eat that day ensuring they truly get to eat like a Dons star.
News of this fantastic programme made a front page splash in the Daily Record’s Aberdeen Now.

And finally, The Bothy Restaurant and Drinkery in the Muraryfield Hotel has brought a little bit of America to the Capital, making the Old Fashioned cocktail one of the most popular drinks on the menu.
The masculine credentials of the whisky-based concoction are also further enhanced because drinkers are served their measure in a manly hip flask.
News of this man-only cocktail was picked up by STV which used a variety of photographs showing you why temptation for this masculine measure is hard to resist.

That’s it for this week but you can keep up to date on all the latest Holyrood action by visiting our website and by following us on facebook, twitter, linkedin and google plus.
