on behalf of Holyrood Partnership
From learning about how businesses can shine in the global spotlight this year, discovering why a Scottish chef used 40 pots and pans to cook one meal and trying out Edinburgh’s latest fitness craze, it’s been a busy week for the Holyrood PR team.
First up, with all eyes on Scotland for its year of homecoming, the Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup and the upcoming independence referendum, The Scottish Business Resilience Centre hosted their first Innovation and Resilience conference to ensure that businesses maximise upon this unprecedented opportunity.
From a series of workshops, exhibitions and pop-up shops in addition to advice being offered from a whole host of industry leaders, the conference, held at the RBS Conference Centre in Edinburgh, was a tremendous success and featured in Edinburgh Now, Edinburgh Evening News and the Times Business insight.
Next up, a talented Sodexo Prestige chef has cooked up a loud storm this week, hitting the headlines, by turning up to a cookery competition with 40 of his own pots and pans, which he used to prepare a three course, feast. Tom Beauchamp’s competition debut came during the Sodexo Scottish Chef of the Year competition, where he went on to claim first prize and featured in Edinburgh Now, the South Queenferry Gazette and Scotland Food and Drink.
And finally, they say the early bird catches the worm, which was the case this weekend as holyrood director Scott Douglas and I enjoyed bright blue skies as we worked out with a view, bright and early on Saturday morning.
The lovely lot at Stay Central hotel put us through our paces with their urban gym experience which had us warming up in the Cowgate, running up the Royal Mile and squatting in the shadows of Edinburgh castle.
The weekly sessions are free for both guests of the hotel and Edinburgh locals alike so if you fancy switching your stuffy gym for some fresh Scottish air visit www.staycentral.co.uk to sign up.
