This week people all over the country paid tribute to our fallen heroes as part of Remembrance Day and this year’s event was particularly poignant as it marked 100 years since the start of World War One.

For our client BUPA Care Homes, Remembrance Day is a particularly important event and to mark the occasion they held numerous ceremonies and activities across Scotland. Bupa’s Balcarres Care Home, in Dundee hosted a coffee morning, allowing residents to come together and pay their respects to those who had lost their lives in past world wars.

News of Bupa’s honourary events made  it into local titles such as the St Andrews citizen and Ayr Advertiser and are lined up to be covered by several care titles.

A community group in Peebles have also hit the headlines this week after taking part in a ground-breaking initiative aimed at giving Scottish communities the opportunity to revitalise their town centres.

The ‘Can Do Towns Innovation Challenge’ is a Government backed initiative which aims to give Scotland’s ambitious community activists the chance to turn their town centres into multi-million pound business hubs.

The team at Holyrood have worked closely with the group from Peebles to raise awareness of their attempts to reclaim a £2.5 million local estate in a bid to boost High Street economies and revive community spirit.

We secured some fantastic coverage for the community entrepreneurs and sparked a local debate which made its way to national attention – with four BBC articles, a page lead in the Southern Reporter in print and online, an article on Third Force News and an exclusive interview with ITV Borders.

And finally, this week we had some great photo coverage for our client CALA Homes East.

The exclusive home builder donate £1500 to revitalize the playing surface of a local tennis club in South Queensferry. The club is an extremely important hub for the community, which lies on the doorstep of CALA Homes Dalmeny Park site, an exclusive new build development consisting of plush detached and terrace homes.

The tennis club and CALA celebrated ACE headlines in the Linlithgow gazette, Bo’Ness journal and Fife Business Journal.
