Holyrood PR agency get down and dirty for charity

Our Edinburgh PR agency has raised more than £1500 for a Scottish Children’s Charity

Our Total PR Warriors, took to the 12km cross country race; over coming pits of thick mud, fire jumps, and endless climbs.Holyrood PR has never been shy about rolling up its sleeves and getting stuck in for our clients.

That’s why it is really pleasing to see our own efforts to get down and dirty as a team bring such rewards.

Six of our team completed Scotland’s first Total Warrior event – a gruelling 12km mud obstacle race which left us battered, bruised and black as coal.

And this week, as the fundraising collection pot closed, we heard the Holyrood PR Total PR Warriors had smashed our £1000 target to raise funds for SSC. In fact, we collected more than £1500.

Here’s a gallery of photos and video we shared from the day (since there’s something pleasing about seeing other folk suffering as they wade through waist-high mud).

Founded in 1912, The SSC is a summer camp – designed to get children aged 10-18 engaging in fun activities away from wifi and mobile phones.

As a registered charity the club also fundraises to offer children from tougher backgrounds the chance to enjoy the life changing experience of an SSC camp, offering a break from some of the pressures of home while promoting an environment of acceptance, self-confidence and above all fun.Holyrood PR in Edinburgh to take part in assault course to raise money for charity

Sophie Williams, Chair of SSC, said: “The Holyrood PR Total Warrior team are clearly bonkers but we love them for it.

“This fantastic donation will help us fund more assisted places for our Scottish summer camps for children who otherwise would not be able to experience what we believe can be life changing holidays for them.

“Seeing the Holyrood PR team train so long, sweat so hard and get covered in more mud than they had ever seen before – all for our wee charity – is actually quite humbling and I’d like to thank them on behalf of everyone at the SSC.”

It’s great to hear our efforts are so well appreciated.

It’s also pleasing to see an event like Total Warrior bring the Holyrood PR team closer together. We really recommend it as a way to create a happier, tighter and more successful workplace.
