A DENTAL practice that has been established for close to seven decades has become part of Scotland’s biggest dental group after agreeing a new partnership.

Stephen Short and Associates, based in Shillinghill, Alloa, has been a family run operation since 1952, developing a strong reputation and serving successive generations of patients.

Now the practice –  which has 9,500 NHS and private patients – is the newest member of the Clyde Munro Dental Group, making it one of 46 practices across Scotland.

With seven surgeries, the thriving Alloa practice and its dedicated team of dentists, dental nurses, hygienists and reception staff will enjoy a host of benefits that come from being part of a progressive and entirely Scottish-based dental group.

Kirsty Dace, Chief Development Officer with Clyde Munro, said: “The practice is a credit to Stephen and his team and is evidently a fixture at the heart of the community in Alloa, as well as much of the surrounding area.

“Keeping the character and personality of the practices we operate is a fundamental part of what we do and something, along with operating exclusively in Scotland, that differentiates us from our competitors.

“Our scale means that we can provide investment in the latest technology and state of the art treatments in practice.”

Stephen Short and Associates is one of four practices acquired by Clyde Munro in recent weeks, taking its patient count to more than 400,000. Now at 46-strong, it is anticipating acquiring its 50th practice in a matter of weeks.

Clyde Munro was founded by Jim Hall in 2015 with the acquisition of seven practices. Since then, it has enjoyed rapid growth through acquisition.

Its ambition is to become Scotland’s “local dentist”, operating an expanding network of family dentists across Scotland, with each devoted to providing the best dental care, while reflecting the needs and character of its community.
