Scots health tech firm sees a healthy dose of media coverage thanks to Scottish PR experts

THE CLINICAL trial results into the effectiveness of Emblation’s Swift® device on cancer cells was a sector milestone our Scottish PR experts knew was worth shouting about.
A team of scientists at the University of Glasgow used the Swift device to treat lab-grown cancer cells with precise doses of microwaves, delivering highly effective results.
Respected medical journal The Lancet published results from the university lab tests, highlighting just how important and effective the device could be.
The story was issued to national, regional, tech and health titles achieving the following results:
– 18 items of coverage
– A fantastic 23,879,340 opportunities to see
– Feature in national titles: The Guardian, Yahoo! News and The National
– Featured in regional titles: Glasgow Evening Times and Alloa Advertiser
– Key features in specialist health titles such as Digit, MyScience and Health and Care Scot
The coverage achieved for this story is invaluable to Emblation, with its Swift device only previously being used in the successful treatment of warts and verrucae.
Not only is this a huge milestone for the firm, but it also presents a huge opportunity for Scotland to develop a pioneering new cancer treatment.
We worked closely with the Director of Research and Development at Emblation, Matt Kidd, who gave us extensive knowledge and insight into the intricacies of the trials taking place in order to accurately inform the context of the story.
As the University of Glasgow was also sharing its own version of the story, we ensured that the release we wrote and issued broke down the technical jargon to make it easier to understand for a wider national audience.
We also thoroughly dissected The Lancet report findings to explain the results of the trial in as much detail as possible.
With the coverage achieved, our Scottish PR experts were able to portray Emblation as a leader of its sector and highlight the Swift® device as a sound investment for clinicians.
