Kind Donation for Bield Secures Coverage in Local and Care Press, With Help of Successful PR Campaign

Bield, Scotland’s leading care and housing provider, has appeared on multiple trade and local publications after one of its Glasgow developments received a generous wonderful from a former tenant’s daughter.

The generous donation of £10, 000 was left to Munro Court, in Glasgow, by Danette McColl-Stobie as a thank you for the care Bield provided to her mother, Margaret McColl, over a decade ago.

The heart-warming story was picked up by online care and housing pages The Carer UK, Scottish Housing News and Housing Scotland Today.

Local Newspaper, The Evening Times also featured the story. The paper is Glasgow’s only dedicated evening newspaper serving the city since 1876. With a readership of around 157, 000 news of Mrs McColl-Stobie’s overwhelming donation was well circulated within the local community.

The first purchase made by the staff at Munro Court was a bench in memory of both Margaret and Danette, which now takes pride of place in the garden.

Julie McLoughlin, Assistant Manager at Munro Court said: “We are completely overwhelmed with the donation we received from Danette.

“Our day care service provides opportunities for older people to enjoy companionship and take part in a variety of activities, we have around 12 to 18 people attend daily and this money will greatly benefit them in number of ways.”

The money was also used to organise a number of summer outings and to purchase a projector, a CD player and lots of board games and puzzles.
