Biddy Mulligans, which became part of G1 Group in 2011, hits the headlines at Bar Magazine as the next exciting investment for G1.

The Grassmarket venue will be closed for eight to ten weeks while the work continues, with a reopening planned for June.

The general manager, Donal Hurrel, does not want to reveal the changes although makes sure that the bar, opened 20 years ago, will remain the same despite the refurbishment.

“Biddy Mulligans has been the landmark Irish bar in the Grassmarket for 20 years, so we decided it was time to spruce things up to improve the experience we can offer to our many customers – including those who are still to make their first visit.”

“We will still be famed for hosting an array of traditional and folk music, screening all the Gaelic games and of course our famous lively atmosphere.”

G1 Group operates more than 40 venues ranging from restaurants, bars, hotels, clubs and cinemas in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth and St Andrews and leads the independent leisure operator sector in Scotland.

The full coverage can be read on the Barmagazine website and was secured on behalf of G1 Group as part of a public relations campaign carried out by Holyrood PR.
