Funnyman Fred MacAulay is star turn for Citylets Christmas bash

FUNNYMAN Fred MacAulay has signed up to provide the entertainment at Scotland’s top property soiree.

Citylets’ annual Christmas bash is in its third year and is now established as the hottest ticket in town for the great and the good in Scotland’s rental sector.

Staged at The Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh, the event sparks a rush for the 125 available tickets every year as the who’s who of the rental sector in Scotland battle it out for invites.

Such has been the success of the event Thomas Ashdown, the company’s managing director, is already considering moving to a bigger venue next year but retaining The Stand as organisers.

He said: “What started out as a Festive knees up has become one of the most eagerly awaited property events of the year.

“Having a headline act of the quality of Fred MacAulay for three years running has helped enormously.

“The party remains an excuse to have a few drinks, take in some superb comedy and chat with people in the industry. For me, the most pleasing thing is that people are genuinely clamouring for tickets.

“I know how lucky we are to get exclusive use of a venue like The Stand and that also makes a huge difference because it really helps make the event a star attraction in everyone’s busy festive social season.”

The party was originally designed as a way for Citylets to thank the 200 letting agents and other businesses who use the website every year to advertise their available properties.
