The media was quick to spread the words of warning and advice from the Scottish Business Resilience Centre on Voucher Scams
THE MEDIA were quick to spread the words of warning and advice from the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) on social media voucher scams – TECH PR
Following the appearance of fraudulent supermarket vouchers on Facebook, and Aldi issuing their own warning against the offers which look too good to be true the Scottish Business Resilience Centre warned shoppers to be on high alert.
The Scottish Business Resilience Centre suggested that the shoppers who are registering for these vouchers are exposing themselves to the risk of damaging identity theft by handing over sensitive personal information to these criminals and offered advice on how to stay safe .
Director of the SBRC, Mandy Haeburn-Little, said: “The public needs to be on guard against vouchers appearing on their social media newsfeeds claiming to offer incredible savings.”

Continuing to spread the words of warning The Scotsman was quick to post the story to their website along with the Herald. On top of posting online The Scotsman shared the story on their Facebook allowing any users who are browsing Facebook to spot the potential scams on their newsfeed. On the day of their post it was viewed 9,052 times and 52 shares which the Scotsman was kind enough to share these statistics with us.
Furthermore The National and the Evening Times shared the safety advice both online and in print with the opportunity for the story to be viewed thousands of times.
But our award winning PR Agency didn’t stop there after securing all this national coverage, aware that many get their news from their local papers a rollout to regional titles was done which achieved features in much loved local press titles the Banffshire Herald, Helensburgh Advertiser, Huntly Express, Linlithgow Gazette and Oban Times.
All of this coverage meant for a potential to reach around 150,000 by covering both national and regional titles.
