Historical artifact uncovers successful hotel PR for Fraser Suites Edinburgh
A HISTORICAL artifact recently discovered in the Fraser Suites Edinburgh hotel has featured yet again in the Edinburgh Evening News.
The stained glass window featuring the motto of Edinburgh figure Sir Patrick Geddes first made a news story in the popular evening paper.
But the window, which was uncovered by workers renovating the St Giles Street building which had lain empty before Fraser Suites took it on, was featured again on the newspaper’s letters page.
Sofia Leonard, former Director of the Patrick Geddes Centre for Planning Studies, University of Edinburgh, wrote to the paper to explain what a valuable artifact had been found.
Her letter was printed alongside a picture of the window – which stretches over three panels.
The window bears the Latin motto:”vivendo discimus” which means “By living we learn”.
