Sweet treat specialist enjoys food and drink PR success at Royal Highland Show
ICE CREAM and chocolate maker Mackie’s of Scotland previewed its 19.2 ice cream parlour at the Royal Highland Show (RHS) – and we shared the sweet news and scooped up coverage.
Mackie’s gave RHS visitors an exciting sneak peek of goodies that will be on offer at the parlour, which is due to launch later this year in Aberdeen’s Marischal Square.
Since the opening of the first Mackie’s outlet is so highly anticipated we knew the preview would prove a hit with the media – and so it turned out. Valuable coverage included:
- A piece in the Press & Journal, Scotland’s biggest selling quality daily newspaper
- An article in the widely read and influential Sunday Herald
- More coverage in the Evening News, the main news outlet serving Edinburgh, where the annual show is held
- In total the coverage created at least 123,207 opportunities to see positive messages about Mackie’s
In such a competitive sector this kind of coverage helps Mackie’s retain and build on its stellar reputation as a Scottish-based provider of the highest quality.
The coverage not only reaches new and existing customers in the company’s Scottish heartland, it also helps the company share its success with an important business audience – crucial for ensuring the firm’s continued growth, expansion in the rest of the UK and a burgeoning export business.
On top of that, this kind of coverage helps recognise and promote the work of Mackie’s loyal and local workforce, particularly on the Aberdeenshire farm where the ice cream and chocolate are made.
New ice cream flavours previewed included Crunchy Red Fruits, Toffee Popcorn Gin and Tonic sorbet. Mackie’s also previewed its exclusive range of artisan chocolates for show goers to taste.
