Tech investment transforms the snack market

The new facility will allow the brand’s to slow-bake its snacks that is able to incorporate up to 45% whole, fresh vegetables.
Our team took this investment as an opportunity to showcase the efforts made by the Mackie’s team to revolutionize the snacking industry and introduce the product to supermarket buyers and potential customers across the country.
This involved drafting a press release and pitching the story to local, national and specialist news outlets, spreading the word and making some noise about what shelves will soon be stocked with.
The Highlights:
- 29 items of coverage across Print, Online and Digital
- 807,433 opportunities to see
- A host of national coverage in titles such as The Herald, The Courier, The Scotsman and The National (print)
- Valuable business coverage in Scottish Financial News, Scottish Business News and Insider
- Food and drink coverage in Food and Drink Technology, Food Manufacture, Just Food and Umi
The exposure gained has followed significant momentum created by the launch of Mackie’s Lentil Waves this month, and secured excellent follow up coverage in business and food specialist outlets such as The Herald, The Grocer, and The Courier.
This has not only drawn in interest from consumers and supermarket buyers, but has also contributed towards building up Wholesums, helping it to become a widely-recognised name.
Wholesums was launched in 2019 as a breakthrough healthy popped chip brand. Produced by Mackie’s crisps at the Taylor farm, the four-generation family-owned business in Perthshire employs a team of 50 staff and currently stands as Scotland’s third best-selling premium crisp brand with ambition to reach #1.
