FFDR branches out with capital expansion

FFDR all trades contractors Press releases

FFDR, Scotland’s small business of the year, has cemented its commitment to providing an improved service to its ever-increasing number of Edinburgh customers by opening up a base in the Capital.

The office front unit in Queensferry Road reflects the fact that the company’s business growth in Edinburgh has increased by 25 per cent in the last 12 months

FFDR is an all trades construction firm which specialises in salvaging damaged properties – both domestic and business – on behalf of the insurance industry.

The newly refurbished unit will provide FFDR’s team of surveyors with a base in Edinburgh.

FFDR founder Ronnie Klos said its commitment to continually improving customer service was paramount behind the Edinburgh office opening.

He said: “In the past our surveyors will have gone out to various jobs in and around Edinburgh to assess and estimate damage repair work.  That would have involved travelling to our head office in Lochgelly, Fife, or their homes to type up the reports at the end of the day to allow them to be sent to the insurance company for approval for the work to start.

“Now the surveyors have a central base that will allow them to visit several properties then go to the office where they can process their reports for various companies.

“That means the insurance companies are in receipt of a job much quicker which means they are able to process the claim quickly.  Anyone who has suffered the misery of a flood or fire will now that the quicker it can be repaired the better it seems.”

Mr Klos said the office – close to the main Blackhall junction overlooked by the Sainsbury’s superstore and the Holiday Inn hotel – also provides the FFDR with a major presence in Edinburgh.

He added: “This is one of the prime locations in Edinburgh, with literally tens of thousands of cars passing the site each day.  This is an important milestone in the continued development of FFDR.  Edinburgh is very important to our business – easily 50 per cent of our business is in Edinburgh – so it was right that we commanded a strong presence – as well as boasting our customer service commitments.”

The opening of the 1300 sq ft office also coincides with the appointment of a new surveyor to FFDR, bringing the surveying team up to four.  Ian Sutherland was formerly with loss adjustors McLaren’s and Cunningham Lindsay and has 13 years experience in the sector.
