PANTO fans can get their hands on a magical treat this festive season when visiting His Majesty’s Theatre (HMT) in Aberdeen.

Mackie’s of Scotland has created a limited edition ‘fairy’ ice cream – a one-off, raspberry flavour made with raspberry ripple sauce, edible pink glitter and white chocolate Jazzles.

The much-loved brand, which supplies luxury ice cream to the city theatre, will also place ‘lucky discs’ under the lid of hundreds of tubs which will reveal instant win prizes when opened.

Mackie’s is well-known for its unique dessert creations, having developed other weird and wonderful flavours such as gingerbread, brussels sprouts and trifle ice cream for Christmas.

Stuart Common, Sales Director at Mackie’s, said: “We love making fun recipes throughout the year and panto is another perfect occasion to get creative.

“When those enjoying ‘Cinderella’ buy an ice cream in the show’s interval they will get the chance to try our one-off fairy tale creation – and be in with a chance to win one of over 200 prizes.”

Jane Spiers, Chief Executive of Aberdeen Performing Arts, said: “Nothing says Christmas cheer quite like a visit to the HMT pantomime and that wouldn’t be complete without a scoop of Mackie’s delicious ice cream to enjoy during the show.Fairytale ice cream to sleigh audiences this Christmas | food and drink PR

“We’re expecting around 60,000 people through our doors for Cinderella and we’re looking forward to welcoming each and every customer.”

This year’s HMT panto is starring TV personality Louie Spence, with local star Laura Main and HMT favourite Alan McHugh.

Tickets are available now from aberdeenperformingarts.com, by phone on (01224) 641122 or in person at the Box Office at HMT and The Lemon Tree. The show opened on Saturday 30th November 2019 and runs to Sunday 5th January 2020.

Mackie’s of Scotland began producing luxury ice cream in 1986 using only milk and dairy from its own herds on the fourth-generation family farm in Westertown, Aberdeenshire.

In keeping with its ‘sky to scoop’ ethos, the firm also produces everything on site, from renewable energy to its very own packaging.
