Exel Wines has been featured in Scotland on Sunday in an article detailing a trick to save corked wine from being poured down the drain.

The piece ran under the heading – Clingfilm trick with wine is a real corker – and explains the rationale behind using the basic kitchen item.

Exel Wines’ operations manager, Russell Wallace, is quoted in the piece stating that the technique works well and is successful due to the electrostatic effect of the clingfilm.

Rusell also states that the cork, storage and age of the bottle can all have an effect on the state of the wine.

Perth-based Exel Wines strive to bring the finest wine and vintages from around the world to Scotland and offer top advice to both individual customers and wholesalers.

The full article can be found on the Scotland on Sunday website and was the result of a sustained PR and media campaign carried out by the Holyrood Partnership.
