Exel Wines has been mentioned by a leading wine critic in a national Scottish newspaper.

Tom Bruce-Gardyne focused his weekly column on independent wine shops, and made note of Exel Wine’s newly opened shop on Perth’s South Street.

Under the subheading “Small autonomous wine shops provide the service, advice, quality, and choice that superstores simply cannot offer” Tom Bruce-Gardyne goes on to say that Exel Wines “offer a real alternative”.

Operations director Russell Wallace is also quoted in the comment piece, stating that the company stock more than 700 wines and that they offer genuine experience and knowledge of wines.

From what initially started as a collectors hobby based at central Perth restuarant Exel Dining, Exel Wines grew into a successful business after the restaurant closed due to the economic downturn and the team were able to focus their efforts on the growing wine merchants business.
