Direct Savings has appeared in The Courier reporting the news that the firm has chosen Perth as the UK base for a state of the art showroom to showcase the ‘next generation’ of home heating systems.
Direct Savings’ expansion, representing a £100,000 investment, provides the firm with its sixth UK office to be located on the city’s Arran Road – but more importantly, will encompass show space for its revolutionary infranomics heating systems.

Managing Director Ged Smith said: “Over the past two years the business has gone from strength to strength and our vision now is to establish Direct Savings as the market leader in providing energy efficient solutions.
“Big plans like these require additional space and increased staff support, which is why this is the ideal time to invest in new premises in Perth. We’re looking to take on around 20 new staff in the local area to support our vision.

Husband and wife team Ged and Eileen Smith founded Direct Savings in 2010 from a garden shed and since then the business has expanded across the UK – including its current main operation in Livingston – run by 130 staff with an annual turnover of £12 million.
But it has also looked to diversify its business into other innovative energy efficient products such as its Infranomic Far Infrared heating system, which is described as the next generation of domestic heating.
Direct Savings said the systems, which have been developed using cutting-edge German technology, provide highly energy efficient and versatile heating – with costs much lower than traditional heating sources.
Infranomic Far Infrared systems are an ideal replacement for inefficient storage heaters and can be designed to look like art work or mirrors – or take the shape of a favourite picture or image. The heating elements are also completely maintenance free and require no annual servicing, saving even more money each year.
Far Infrared is also acknowledged as a natural and harmless form of heating that is actually beneficial to the human body – the body is designed to absorb Infrared energy as it operates on the same frequency.
Ged added: “Direct Savings is a great example of creative Scottish firm that has spotted a key business opportunity and put in the energy and investment to make it work.
