WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MEMBERS OF AN AWARD WINNING PR AGENCY

LAST time you were introduced to Cat Timoney. This week attention turns to Senior Account Executive, Fraser Clarke.

Fraser works with clients such as Blackwood, CALA, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, Leonardo Hotels, Mackie’s of Scotland and the Scottish Business Resilience Centre.

After graduating from the University of Stirling with a BA Honours degree in Journalism Studies, Fraser went on to pursue a career in the field. He spent two years as a journalist for press agency Deadline News before making the switch to PR and joining the Holyrood PR team.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?

I like the variety of it – everyday can be different with different people and topics. It’s nice seeing clients get excited about coverage and seeing its results, such as more website visits or buzz around a product.

Q. What do you enjoy most when you’re not in the office?

I’m quite into my sports and play five-a-side football every week, as well as some golf and tennis. I have started playing this sport called ‘Padel’ which is quite big in Spain. It’s like tennis but on a much smaller court and you can rebound it off the court walls.

Q. Tell us something not many people know about you?

I volunteered at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow a couple of years ago. I got to meet a few famous faces whilst I was there including people like Usain Bolt and Amir Khan. I also saw Matt Baker from the One Show kicking about the media village but I don’t know if that’s much of a claim to fame.

Q. What would you define as the highlight of your career so far?

Working as a journalist last year and seeing my work in the front pages of some newspapers was really good because it’s something I’d been working towards since the end of high school really. It was also nice to help out with some stories. For example, I was able to set up a meeting between Ricky Hatton and the family of a missing young Scottish boy which the mother and father really seemed to appreciate and helped raise even more awareness.

Q. If you were able to read one newspaper for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I’d probably go for the Times.

Q. When the office tea-round comes around, what is your drink of choice?

Not really a massive tea drinker. But I’m partial to a green tea every now and then.

Q. And outside of work?

Usually just beer and vodka on nights out but if i can get away with a cocktail I will.

Q. You have one superpower, which superpower do you have, and how do you use it?

I always thought it would be quite cool to morph into other people. If I’m sitting in the house bored watching the football, I could morph into one of the players on the pitch. Probably a bit creepy actually thinking about it.
