The capital’s football clubs have put their rivalries aside after the weekend’s heated cup final by signing a joint charitable partnership with a local home assistance company.

Edinburgh based First Call will be working to raise funds for the teams’ charities, Big Hearts and Hibernian Community Foundation, through an innovative fundraising arrangement.

It is the latest effort by the firm to cement its strong commitment to the local community and with every sale of a home emergency policy made through the clubs’ websites, 15% of the monthly fee will go to their respective charities.

John Dickson, National Sales Director, said: “Business and football allegiances aside, it’s very important for us to help local charitable causes, and the fantastic work the Hearts and Hibs Trusts’ do for community development projects is highly regarded in Edinburgh.

Kris Von Wald, Executive Director of Hibernian Community Foundation said: “We are delighted to have developed this relationship with First Call which will offer something of value to our supporters at the same time as giving something back to the Foundation.”
