Edinburgh public relations team achieve out of this world coverage for rocket firm’s prestigious graduate programme.
WHEN SKYRORA announced the acceptance of two talented students onto its prestigious graduate programme, our public relations experts grabbed the chance to generate out of this world coverage on the story.
Our tech PR team propelled the story to media success, generating maximum coverage by repurposing and reworking the initial release into four regionalised pieces, targeted towards the students’ hometowns and universities.
The success of the team’s strategic thinking is reflected in the incredible results that were achieved, garnering outstanding national coverage, target regional and local coverage, as well as all-important specialist coverage in tech and business media.
Our team delivered the following results:
- 21 items of coverage across print, online and social media
- 442,107 opportunities to see
- Impressive national coverage in The National (print and online), Press and Journal (print), Daily Record (print)
- Local and Regional coverage in Aberdeen Evening Express (print), North Edinburgh News, Midlothian Today, Edinburgh Live and The Edinburgh Reporter
- Valuable Tech and Business coverage in Insider and Digit
By creating four tailored stories, our team capitalised on the spectacular achievement of the students in being given a place on the most prized university placement programme in Scotland, as well as boosting Skyrora’s reputation across the UK.
Skyrora wanted to reaffirm its dedication to talent development and continue to forge strong ties with universities across the UK, so achieving this widespread coverage was vital in getting this message across to promising young graduates, university staff, and students with an interest in getting involved in the UK space industry.
We ensured Skyrora were positioned at the forefront of a growing space industry in the UK, by showcasing its enthusiasm and recognition that developing young talent is going to be integral to advancing that growth agenda, and emphasising the prestigious nature of the programme with applicants from all over Europe.
Our team were also able to build up a sense of pride and anticipation for what Scotland and the UK’s space sector has in store, with Skyrora leading the way and pushing the boundaries in space and technology.
The positive coverage is vital to Skyrora as it moves towards its goal of launching its first rocket – Skyrora XL – from a UK site in 2023.
