on behalf of Boyd Legal
A SENIOR Conveyancing Solicitor has been appointed by an expanding full-service legal firm targeting further growth in legal services from its Fife branch.
Formerly Managing Partner at his own legal firm and conveyancing practice, Nigel Geddes joins Edinburgh headquartered Boyd Legal and brings with him more than 24 years experience in the industry.
As well as founding and running NCG Solicitors, Geddes previously held a part time position as a Law Tutor at the University of Strathclyde.
Now living in Elie, he is taking up the position of Senior Solicitor to head up Boyd Legal’s conveyancing team at its Kirkcaldy office.
Nigel said: “After spending more than two decades as a self employed practitioner the timing was right for me to change it up and join a team.
“I really wanted to become part of a friendly, efficient and collaborative office where the ethos is firmly on quality of service to the client and I feel I have found that at Boyd Legal.
“There is space for further expansion in the former Gibson Spears Dow & Son, Kirkcaldy office.
Big isn’t always beautiful and we can offer Fifers an alternative with our experience and personal service.”
Geddes previously ran a holiday letting business in East Neuk of Fife for a number of years further building his sound knowledge of the Fife property market.
Having started his career with Ian McCarry Solicitors, Geddes moved to Milligan, Telford and Morrow, criminal solicitors like rhalaw.com before starting up his own practice Geddes and Co. Solicitors.
After spending ten years developing and successfully running the firm, he made the decision to specialise in conveyancing and created NCG Solicitors expanding his expertise in the field.
Diana Boyd, Partner at Boyd Legal, said: “Nigel has strong connections in Fife and he will work closely with Peter Aitken, our long-standing Solicitor in Kirkcaldy.
“We are thrilled to have him join the team. It is perfect timing for him. He sees opportunities for taking on new business in Fife where the legal landscape has seen major changes in recent times.
“The clear focus on excellent service is beginning to really resonate with private clients and the business community who may be seeking a more flexible, tailored and personal service than is often offered by the largest firms.”
