A 97-YEAR-OLD fundraiser has handed over a cheque worth £30,000 to one of the country’s most influential children’s charities, the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC).

For years, Tom Gilzean, a retired bus driver and WWII veteran from Edinburgh, has been involved with numerous fundraising activities. His recent efforts, however, have resulted in an unbelievable sum of £30,000 being raised for the local charity.

The story about Tom and his incredible achievement has gained widespread coverage across the media. The highlights include:

  • National coverage in the Daily Express
  • Key local coverage in the Edinburgh Evening News, The Edinburgh Reporter and The North Edinburgh News
  • The story has reached a total of 69,433 people

The recognition gained by the ECHC through positive media coverage has helped to raise awareness of the amazing work the charity does to create a transformative environment for children undergoing treatment at the hospital.
