ECHC No April Fools With Month of Fantastic Coverage

Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity Media Coverage

A month of PR success in key titles has left Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity feeling like spring chickens

Excellent Coverage For Edinburgh PR client

Proud Peddling Parents

First up, dedicated Dad Ryan O’Connor’s sponsored cycle from Edinburgh to Glasgow in recognition of ECHC was a huge hit for the charity in terms of press coverage, with pieces featured in The Scotsman, The Courier and Dunfermline Press.

Ryan completed the cycle to raise funds for and thank the charity for the work it did for his daughter and family when his youngest, Orla, was diagnosed with Hirchsprungs disease.

Record Breaking Year

ECHC also celebrated its best year ever in terms of fundraising and the amount handed out in grants, smashing its target for donations in 2016 and reaching over the £1.8m mark.

Giving out a whopping 82 grants, the charity managed to provide valuable support to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, as well as funding a number of projects and services delivered at St John’s Hospital in Livingston and Borders General Hospital.

Our announcement of this record year was picked up by a fantastic seven publications, including key nationals and regionals.

Fundraising Trek? Alpaca Bag!

A sponsored trek over the Pentland hills with the help of seven furry alpacas was another story too good not to share, as Catherine Loftus and her son Thomas led the charge with their furry friends.

This story scored a front page splash in the Edinburgh Evening News as well as a full page spread inside the paper- a huge success for both ECHC and our team of experts at Holyrood PR.

Beatrice’s Bonnets Brings Boom of Coverage

To celebrate Easter, ECHC held an Easter Bonnet competition judged by its royal patron Princess Beatrice. This gained some cracking coverage in a number of publications both in print and online, including  Daily Express, The National and the Edinburgh Reporter.

Team Ruby’s Run

Finally, we secured hits in major titles for the story of Team Ruby, who completed the Meadows Marathon to fundraise for ECHC, who supported the family when their daughter suffered a stroke.
