Eagle Gets Its Skates On For Extra Charity Delivery

Eagle Couriers enjoys positive headlines thanks to Holyrood PR PR in Scotland

Kind-hearted directors at Scotland’s leading independent courier firm have once again donated their services to help a charity in need.

Eagle Couriers has made another special delivery for Glasgow-based charity Project Ability – returning a pair of roller boots that were left behind following a recent fundraising retro disco.

The gesture comes just a week after the firm originally offered its services to the charity in order to help with a special roller disco, which was set up in aid of people with learning disabilities and mental health issues in the city.

Eagle Couriers had delivered boxes of old school style roller boots that were donated by a company in Leeds for the event, before returning them back again to England once the disco was completed.

But after the boxes were returned, charity workers at Project Ability realised that two pairs had accidentally been left behind at the disco venue in Glasgow. And the charity faced paying extra to send the wayward footwear back to where it had come from, until Eagle Couriers stepped in again and offered to return the boots free of charge.

Free delivery improves PR in Scotland

Jerry Stewart, one of Eagle Couriers’ directors, said: “We always try to give something back to the local communities that we work in, so when we heard about Project Ability’s dilemma we jumped at the chance to help.

“It is a charity that performs a lot of good work in Glasgow and the rest of Scotland, and helps support many children and adults with learning disabilities. We were delighted to pick the boots up and return them free of charge in order to help them with their event, which was a tremendous success.

“However, after we returned the box to Leeds, we received a call saying that two pairs had accidentally been left behind in Glasgow. The charity was facing paying extra money to return them, so we stepped in again and offered to return the boots free of charge.

“Hopefully our help has allowed the charity to maximise the funds raised for its important work with people with disabilities and mental health issues in Glasgow and the rest of Scotland.”

Kara Szifris, development manager with Project Ability, added: “We really can’t stress enough how much Eagle Couriers has helped ensure that our event is a success. We are a small charity and the event was being supported almost entirely by volunteers. We hoped to find someone who would lend their support and help us get the boots up from Leeds, so Eagle Couriers’ help has been vital.

Special delivery saves the day

“The boots were a vital part of the event so thankfully Eagle Couriers stepped in and offered to pick up them up and return them for free, which helped save the day.”
