STV Airdrie PR Scotland Eagle CouriersCourier firm regenerates PR Scotland after making generous donation to a historical transport route.

Eagle Couriers made the donation to Summerlee musuem and their project to help regenerate the Monklands Canal and as a result found themselves with online coverage on STV Airdrie’s online news portal.

The £200 gift will go towards reworking the stone basin of the canal, which was once a major transport route for Scotland’s coal mining community. The canal now runs below the M8 which is fittingly one of today’s major transport routes both in and out of the city of Glasgow.

Director of Eagle Couriers decided to make the donation after visiting Summerlee museum and witnessing the work they do wanted to give something back to the transport community of which the firm is a part.

Jerry quotes in the article: “When I herad about the work that Summerlee were doing with the old Monklands canal and its significance with the M8 it was evident that this was a project that I wanted Eagle Couriers to be a part of.

“I hope the donation made will help improve the canal area and I really look forward to seeing the completed canal project and visiting with my family and friends.

“As well as taking the time to improve and maintain our current road and rail links, we should also take the time to remeber and preserve the routes which shaped our transport history and and helped us acheive the transport developments and coureir successes we have to date.”
