Winning Entrepreneurs Blog

The first public appearance of the BBC’s online Dragons’ Den team is selling out fast with dozens of entrepreneurs and businessmen lining up to learn how the Dragons made their millions.

The trio of Shaf Rasul, Julie Meyer and Dominic Byrne will be at Edinburgh’s Prestonfield House Hotel on September 18 to speak about their experiences.  The event, organised by Belinda Roberts of east coast networking group Winning Entrepreneurs, coincides with the launch of the online version of the show.

A group of businessmen are so determined to learn from Shaf and Julie that they are travelling up from London for the event, which is now 85% sold out and has had successful Scottish PR coverage.

Winning Entrepreneurs Founder Belinda Roberts said: “This has been an event in great demand and it’s going to be a fantastic night.

“This is an opportunity for the country’s leading entrepreneurs to get together at the top corporate event of the year and celebrate their successes in spite of the economic challenges currently faced.”

The nominated charity for the event is The Prince’s Trust with a number of items available for auction.

Items up for grabs in the auction include:

  • Signed albums and gold discs by the likes of Elton John, Madonna and U2 and Harry Potter Return of the Phoenix and Romeo & Juliet signed gold DVDs
  • Signed shirts from Lewis Hamilton and Pele
  • Signed and framed pictures of sporting legends including Michael Schumacher, Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, and Seve Ballesteros
  • Driving a Formula 1 car and dining on the Orient Express

Edinburgh-based Shaf Rasul said: “It’s going to be a fantastic night and I look forward to sharing my experiences in business with some of the most successful and aspiring entrepreneurs in the country.

“As a venture capitalist and ambassador of Winning Entrepreneurs, it’s inspiring that people are recognising the significant opportunities to make a success of a start-up in the economic downturn.

Entertainment on the night will come from The Paparazzi Boys and The Craig McMurdo Dance Orchestra. Tables of 10 are available at £630 + VAT with individual tickets available for £70 + VAT.  The ticket price includes a pre-dinner drinks reception and a three course dinner.
