Local pensioner Helen Wares has been lucky enough to benefit from Direct Savings new innovative heating system after she was recommended to trial it by St Andrews Environmental Network (StAndEN.)

The firm which is known for its state of the art Infranomic Far Infrared Heating system helped the 70 year old chronic arthritis sufferer to heat her three bedroom home by installing the £5000 system free of charge.

Helen’s home, although well insulated, was dependent on outdated storage heaters and so made it the ideal environment to test the heating system which aims to reduce CO2 emissions and cut household fuel bills.

Direct Savings Managing Director, Ged Smith, said “Infranomic heating can go a long way in alleviating ever increasing energy costs, saving an average of 45% on heating costs per year, making it highly efficient and cost effective.”

Ged also believes that Helen will notice a significant improvement in the heating of her home and a great decrease in the cost of her energy bills.

Direct Savings and StAndEN will work alongside St Andrews University to carefully monitor the amount of electricity required to run this the heating system.

Direct Savings is a UK leader in high quality, innovative energy saving solutions, such as infranomic heating systems and inflector window insulation, both of which are leading edge energy efficiency technology.
