A Scottish energy efficiency organisation has taken the decision to give all of their staff members the day off work, to vote in the upcoming Scottish referendum.
All 55 of Direct Savings’ employees will be given the day off, as the firm believes this is an important day for the future of Scotland.
It is believed that Direct Savings are the first firm in Scotland to grant their workers the day off, and both sides of the campaign may agree that this is a positive move by the Bathgate based company.
Managing Director of Direct Savings, Jed Smith, has expressed that he is not concerned by which way the employees vote, but thinks that they should have the chance to have their say, claiming it will be ”The most important vote Scots will ever face”.
News of this decision has made it into publications including Scotland Now and The Economic Voice.

The coverage was gained as part of a long running campaign for Direct Savings.
