CHRISTMAS SHOPPING – love it or loathe it, chances are you have to do it. And more and more of us are now opting to avoid the bustling masses, instead ordering online from the comfort of our own homes.
But shoppers are increasingly becoming the target of devastating cyber fraud with some stats this year suggesting that the number of attacks will even double this festive period – hitting bank balances in the all important run up to Christmas.
So we helped our client the Scottish Business Resilience Centre get its Christmas warning out to the world as it communicated clear tips to avoid
dodgy websites, phishing (email scams) and that one simple thing we can all do to limit our risk: which is to update our systems when prompted rather than putting off for months on end.
Our story featured in the main pages of the Scotsman, in a cross page spread which went into great detail and reached across its typically ABC1 demographic audience.
The story also made on the publications recently revamped website, in the new ‘Future Scotland’ section – reaching many of the 70,000 unique daily users which the site attracts.
It didn’t end there, as the story also appeared in print and online in the National, ensuring it reached a separate but important audience.
This is a key paper for reaching a demographic often alienated from other publications and ensuring awareness across a wider audience.
Positive coverage was also achieved in the Daily Business Group, which is now not only firmly established as an important business news source, but as a site which offers fresh content in a variety of areas, including lifestyle, sport and world news.
The story even reached an influential Hebridean news site, meaning that an audience across the breadth of Scotland was exposed to the good work of the SBRC.
