Headlines and awards for the Scottish Cyber Awards 2017
THE Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) hosted the Scottish Cyber Awards and we were on hand to ensure while they were giving out trophies we were securing headlines thanks to our tech PR resources.
In its second year, the hugely successful award ceremony sought to recognise Scotland’s innovative thinkers at the forefront of cyber technology.
Like-minded individuals within the industry set their sights on reaching the prominent awards in this rapidly expanded industry.
The celebration at The Sheraton Grand in Edinburgh followed lengthy deliberation by a panel comprising experts in the field, to firstly bring forward the finalists from the nominees and then decide upon the worthy award-winners.
The ‘Champion of Champions’ accolade, was presented to Toni Scullion for her outstanding efforts to further the cyber security cause at St Kentigern’s Academy.
Other highlights included ID Cyber Solutions for Best New Cyber Talent and Alexander Young for Best New Cyber Talent.

To ensure everyone received their fair share of exposure for these prestigious awards, we structured a campaign that sought out key media titles, and were presented with an outstanding haul of incredibly effective coverage, including:
- 50 press cuttings in total reaching an estimated 516,478 opportunities to see
- Key national coverage in The Scotsman and The National
- Regional coverage in the Edinburgh Evening News
- Important trade titles such as Digit, FutureScot and Connect-World sharing the story
- Further local coverage in the Paisley Daily Express, Fife Today, Falkirk Herald and West Lothian Courier
To ensure the Scottish Cyber Awards generates the buzz, excitement and success it merited, here at Holyrood PR we aim to continue securing positive press coverage.
