Currie Football Club’s U13’s team are set to tackle their upcoming games in style after securing a vital sponsorship deal with renowned house builder, CALA Homes (East).

The UK’s most upmarket, major home builder has just announced it will be providing the £1,500 sponsorship to the team to help set them up for another successful year.

The U13’s team will be using the much needed funds to invest in kits, equipment and the general weekly running of the 11-a-side team and have high hopes for them to shine in their new strips throughout the season ahead.

Each year, the U13’s team plays in a number of tournaments, which sees them competing against other teams from across Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and the Borders. CALA Homes’ commitment for the next 12 months now allows them to concentrate all their efforts on the pitch.

Colin Macbeth, President of the Currie FC, said: “We are extremely grateful to CALA Homes for their support of the Currie FC U13’s section.

“We have had an extremely successful year and CALA’s help will allow us to continue to provide a great experience for all our young players and set us up for what we hope will be another fantastic year of football.

“Our U13’s squad is a central part of Currie FC and the wider community, and this sponsorship will help our young people to look the part when they are on the field and represent the team in a strong and appropriate way.

“We look forward to seeing our players going from strength to strength in their brand new strips in the coming year.”

CALA is committed to investing in the communities surrounding its homes. Formed in 1997, Currie FC is the local club covering the Balerno, Currie and Juniper Green communities. The club offers a number of opportunities for boys and girls to participate in organised football in a safe and friendly environment.

Stala Thomson, Sales Manager with CALA Homes (East), voiced her support for Currie FC U13’s team.

She said: “CALA Homes is passionate about community spirit and you couldn’t get more to the heart of that than with local football teams as the games bring everyone together.

“We look forward to seeing the club continue to give their players the fantastic opportunities they have done for so many years and you never know, they may even pave the way for a couple of Scotland’s future stars”.
