To celebrate the launch of ‘Sex and the City: The Movie’, Montpeliers has created the ultimate excuse to while the evenings away like the NYC girls.

Tigerlily’s Head Mixologist Jamie MacDonald has created the Bradshaw, a refreshing cocktail made of Absolut vodka, Chambord, lashings of Rocco Prosecco garnished with an edible flower, as part of its ‘Summer in the City’ event.

The drink, along with SATC classics the Absolut Cosmopolitan and French Martini, are part of an exclusive promotion that gives cocktail drinkers the chance to jet off to the Big Apple to live it up like Carrie et al at some of the city’s hottest nightspots.

At Montpeliers venues Tigerlily, rick’s, Indigo (Yard), Montpeliers Bar and Brasserie, Assembly and Candy Bar the delicious tipples are on offer for two for £7 every Saturday to Thursday, 5pm to 8pm, from May 17 to June 30 2008.

Jamie said he was keen to grasp the essence of the idolised SJP when creating a drink to sit next to the classic Cosmo on the cocktail menus.

He said: “I wanted to create something that could rival the Cosmopolitan in capturing the glam girly culture. Women love cocktails and drinking something that is both refreshing on the pallet and on the eye.

“That’s why I used the Rocco Prosecco and topped it off with the edible flower – it is small touches like that which make drinking cocktails all the more exciting than simply ordering a spirit and mixer.

“With all our ‘Summer in the City’ cocktails we have been keen to make sure they are drinks associated with the goings-on in Sex and the City. This means our customers can have a taste of the NYC lifestyle in Edinburgh even if they aren’t the lucky one to win the prize to New York.”

As well as a four-day trip for two to New York drinkers are also entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a host of glamorous prizes including underwear Carrie wears in the film. The grey romper suit with ribbons, by designer Lakes and Stars is from Edinburgh lingerie boutique Boudiche and is worth £165.

Drinkers can also win a champagne cruise on Loch Lomond from Amazing Days, a little black dress from Black Essentials, a cut at Charlie Miller, a champagne shopping day at Cruise, a massage at Zen Lifestyle, as well as a stay in one of the lavish suites at Tigerlily and a VIP night at Opal Lounge.

Winners of the chic selection of prizes will be announced at a cocktail party in Lulu on June 30.

David Johnston, Development Manager at Montpeliers, Edinburgh’s leading style bar operator, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be offering our customers the chance to live it up like the Sex and the City girls.

“Edinburgh is a very glamorous city and the ladies love the designer lifestyle. But nothing can beat NYC itself – it will be the trip of a lifetime.

“The film is soon to hit cinemas and the summer is upon us – it is the perfect time for girls to slip into their Manolos and sip on one of Carrie’s favourite tipples.”
