SBRC warns Scots against the threat of crafty COVID scams

WITH reports that malicious COVID scams had already duped the UK public out of more than £800,000 through email scams, we helped the Scottish Business Resilience Centre to issue advice to the public on what to look out for.

Fraudulent emails present have some tell-tale signs that can act as strong warning signs – such as unusual email addresses, URLs, and links and attachments.

We knew this advice needed to carefully worded, and spread as far and wide as possible to reach as many people as we could. With a strategic rollout targeting national, local, regional, and specialist titles, we secured 56 pieces of coverage with 448,395 opportunities to see.

The highlights included:

  • Coverage in national titles including The National, Daily Mail,
  • Business coverage in Business Insider, Scottish Business News Network
  • Extensive local and regional coverage in Mearns Leader, Perthshire Magazine, The Highland Times, Lanark and Carluke Gazette, Aberdeen Evening Express, Edinburgh Evening News
  • Specialist and tech coverage in Digit

Targeted local, regional and national rollouts help to maintain SBRC’s links with local communities across Scotland, enhancing its reputation as an authority on all things resilience.
