Excellent PR in Scotland for Couriers with Trade Press

Scotland’s largest independent courier firm has plans to take on its global rivals by trying to secure more business from the public sector.

Eagle Couriers, which has bases in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bathgate has unveiled plans to grow its turnover from £3 million to £5 million by 2015 by targeting growth in public sector business.

After growing it’s public sector client base by forty percent last year, the courier firm are looking to focus on the work of bigger global delivery outfits. Eagle already lists a number of public sector clients on it’s books such as Edinburgh City Council and NHS.

Fiona Deas, Finance Director at Eagle Couriers said: “As a small Scottish business we are dependent on the support that our public sector bodies are able to provide.

“Over the next few years, our strategy is to increase the number of contracts we have with councils and local government agencies. Last year we were very successful in this area, and we are hopeful of building on this over the coming years.”Last year our overall business grew by 9 percent, which is obviously extremely encouraging. In order to continue to grow, we are very eager to secure long term contracts with public sector bodies.

Fiona continued: “We are in a good position for 2012 and are extremely proud of the work we have been doing and want to continue to prosper in a very difficult market.”
