Staff at Eagle Couriers have been celebrating after securing coverage in Courier Direct magazine, the premier trade publication for the UK courier industry.
The magazine, which is read by thousands of professionals and managers within the industry, featured a response from Eagle Couriers regarding this week’s Budget – where Chancellor Alistair Darling announced that fuel duty would be raised by another 2p per litre.
Jerry Stewart, one of Eagle Couriers’ directors, said the raise was a “kick in the teeth” for motorists and professional drivers who require petrol as an integral part of their business. He added that the Government had already reneged twice on its promise not to raise fuel duty for a year and that the latest hike would hit UK businesses hard.
