Managing Director of Eagle Couriers, Jerry Stewart was awarded with a special certificate in recognition of over 20 years membership with The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
The milestone was marked by the trade body presenting a certificate and honorary lapel pin to Jerry, who has been at the helm of Scotland’s leading independent courier firm for 25 years.
Delighted with the award, the Eagle Couriers Managing Director said: “It’s an honour to receive the award from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
“They are at the pinnacle of our industry so it is extremely humbling to receive recognition from such an important group.
“I can’t believe it’s been over 20 years since I became a member – it only feels like yesterday and it has been fantastic to be a part of a body that has helped the industry grow and adapt to the ever evolving trade.
“Over the years I have attended many events and exhibitions run by CILT and have found them to be very informative of all things new in the logistical world.
“It’s always nice to be recognised and celebrate the hard work you’ve put in and I look forward to many more years to come with both the CILT and the team at Eagle Couriers.”
Starting life at Eagle Couriers in 1988, Jerry has amassed nearly three decades of experience providing safe and quick logistics services across the private, public and third sectors.
Jerry added: “No two days are ever the same in this business and I guess that’s why I’ve stayed in it for so many years.
“From life size Horace the Haggis costumes, to a lost cat that we drove 478 miles from Plymouth to a family in Penicuik, you never know how the day ahead will pan out when you first wake up in the morning.
“It’s great to be able to meet so many interesting people with interesting requirements from all over the country which is definitely a great incentive to come to work and enjoy what we do.”
Eagle Couriers is Scotland’s biggest independent courier company has 20 members of operational staff across Scotland and a 100-strong team of couriers. It has its HQ in Bathgate, West Lothian and additional offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
